When we would argue against it
We do not put R in a production request path. Where a model has to be served, it moves to Python behind an evaluation harness, or it is reimplemented in the language the rest of the system runs on.
What it looks like in delivery
Almost always alongside a client’s own analysts: we take responsibility for reproducibility, packaging and getting the result into a system, and leave the statistics with the people qualified to sign them.
